What is the S4 Symposium?

The S4 is an opportunity to present your research to your peers and compete for the chance at receiving a cash award. Presentations will be approximately 12-15 minutes. There will be four $1000 awards for best undergraduate paper, best graduate paper, best use of quantitative data, and best use of qualitative data in a paper. Runners-up will receive a $200 award.

Who can participate?

All undergraduate and graduate students, from all CSU campuses and community colleges, doing research in any social science field are encouraged to participate. Individual and group papers are both welcome.

How do you participate?

If you want to compete for one of the paper awards, you must submit a full paper (maximum 20 pages). To present your research without competing for an award, you only need to submit an abstract (120-250 words).
