This year the CSU’s Social Science Research and Instructional Council (SSRIC) is once more offering stipends for CSU faculty members to register for quantitative and qualitative methods courses in the 2025 Summer Program This link will take you to an external website in a new tab. presented by the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR). Summer 2025 ICPSR summer courses will be in a variety of formats, including in person, online-only, and asynchronous classes. Stipends
Each stipend will pay the course registration fee for one short course. Stipend awardees’ registration fees will be paid directly to ICPSR by SSRIC. Stipends cannot be used for expenses other than workshop registration fees.
In allocating stipends, priority will be given to faculty from CSU campuses with active SSRIC subscriptions. Successful applicants will demonstrate how their attendance at the Summer Program will enhance both the teaching and research missions of the CSU. Scholars who have already registered for the 2025 Summer Program are welcome to apply for the stipend.

Application
Provide the following information:
- 1. Your name and affiliation
- The title, date and format of the course you intend to take

- A clear statement of how the course will benefit your research and teaching
Deadline
The application deadline is Friday, March 21, 2025. We will continue to accept applications after that date if funds remain and announce the extension on the SSRIC website. SSRIC will notify applicants who apply before the deadline whether they have been awarded a stipend in late March.
Registration Fees
Please note that returning ICPSR participants receive a 15% discount on registration fees. If you are in this category, please deduct that amount from the registration fee amount that you enter in the application form and indicate that you are a returning scholar at the beginning of your statement about how the course will benefit you.
